Michelangelo's ceiling frescoes
This is widely considered the crown jewel of High Renaissance art. Michelangelo spent four years painting these nine central panels, which depict scenes from the Book of Genesis.
Michelangelo’s The Last Judgment
Painted on the altar wall decades after he finished the ceiling, this massive fresco depicts the Second Coming of Christ and the final, eternal judgment of humanity.
Life of Moses Fresco
Painted in the 1480s by a team of masters including Perugino and Botticelli, this cycle chronicles the life of Moses.
Life of Christ Fresco
Directly opposite the Moses cycle, this series chronicles the life of Jesus, visually connecting the two periods of biblical history. It was painted by a group of Renaissance masters in the 1480s.
Arrangement for the Papal Conclave
The tables and chairs you see are not part of a standard church layout; they are temporary installations. When a Pope passes away or resigns, the College of Cardinals gathers in this room to elect a successor.

Susan
Really enjoyed this activity. There was so much to see and information to take in, we used the headsets to get the most out of the visit. The Sistine Chapel was unbelievable so make sure you leave enough time to fully appreciate this beautiful place.

Our guide was exception, and we had a wonderful and educational time - would do again to find out more, with so much that I'm sure you could have an entirely experience!
Rome: Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel & Basilica Tour
Roy
The tour was amazing and all three sites had breath-taking vistas. We awaited the Sistine Chapel with anticipation and though magnificent, we think that St Paul's Basilica was the highlight of the tour.
